Cooking Merit Badge is an Eagle requirement that covers the many types of cooking and planning we use throughout our program and life. The Cooking Merit Badge Pamphlet, available at your local scout shop, will be your informational guide and the Cooking Merit Badge Workbook, available via the link below, will be your tracking tool. The Workbook will need to be filled out according to the requirements of each section for successful completion of the merit badge. This is a merit badge that takes some time so have fun with it, ask questions, and find excuses to use these new skills wherever, and whenever, you can. Good Luck!
We are currently using the 2020 revision of the Cooking Merit Badge Pamphlet and Workbook. You will need a copy of each to complete the requirements successfully.
The Pamphlet can be purchased through your local scout store, however, it is strongly advised that you check for a copy in your unit's library or ask other scouts who have recently completed the course. Likewise, donations of used current pamphlets are always welcomed by your units library.
The Workbook is free and can be downloaded from the link below. As you go through each section, you will find that some items repeat. It's a good idea to read the pamphlet and review ALL sections and requirements when you begin working on the merit badge. This will save you time and help a great deal. Feel free to ask you Cooking Merit Badge Counselor questions and check in frequently.
